- Deputy Nursery Manager role for a well-established nursery with a 'Good' Ofsted rating in Shoreham-by-sea, West Sussex
This is a permanent position for 40 hours per week on a rota Monday to Friday. This is a room based role in the baby room and therefore experience with this age range is essential, this role requires a confident individual.
The setting is part of a lovely and successful small chain of nurseries that have recently received investment and have a reputation for high quality childcare. the nursery has a large garden which creates significant opportunities for outdoor play, learning, and development. there is also a free flow ethos for the different aged children to learn together. the nursery has very strong links with the local community.
The role of Deputy Nursery Manager in Shoreham-by-Sea will include:- Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
- Ensuring health, safety and well-being of the children at all times
- Being a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families according to the EYFS
- leading a team of practitioners
- Ensuring ratios are adhered to at all times
- Checking paperwork is completed appropriately
- dealing with outside agencies
- planning and leading team meetings and training
- Stepping up in the Managers absence
- Minimum level 3 in childcare and post-qualifying work experience or relevant degree
- Worked as a room leader for a significant number of years or is currently a third in charge or Deputy
- Happy to work within the baby room
- Ability to support staff to work effectively within the EYFS
- Ability to manage a small team
