- Description
- Residential Support Worker (Residential Children's support worker) role supporting children in Wythenshawe.
We are recruiting for compassionate and experienced care professionals to work as a Residential Children's Support Worker (RCW) for a small homely 4 bedded setting that supports children with learning difficulties based in Wythenshawe.
The company is a small business whom has the care of young people embedded into the whole ethos of the organisation including their recruitment process. The company are looking for candidates to fulfil the following roles:- One role involves (169hrs a month - 39hrs a a week on average) typically working 10 x 24 hr sleep in shifts over the month (not generally back to back).
- One role involves waking nights - 1030pm to 830am - £10.50 - £11.50 per hour + £20 per shift uplift on top (3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next week)
- £10.50 - £11.50 per hour + sleep-in allowance at £40 per sleep = annual salary approx £25054 - £28,096 for role involving sleep -in cover

- MUST BE A CAR DRIVER TO BE ABLE TO TAKE THE CHILDREN TO SCHOOL AND APPOINTMENTS
- Ideally hold a recognised qualification or willing to work towards a level 3 residential childcare qualification
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience working within children or adults with learning disabilities or within care services and willingness to undertake personal care.
- Ability to write clear and accurate reports
- An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment
- Willingness to work shift work
- To contribute to the Care Planning process of children cared for
- Attending and preparing for children’s conferences, reviews, planning, core group and other meetings in connection with children placed with the company
- Maintaining children’s records accurately and within agreed time-scales
- Undertaking Key Worker responsibilities conscientiously and in accordance with agreed time-scales
- Personal Care
- To participate and contribute to the collation and preparation of Assessment and Action Records (when this is in accordance with the child’s care plan).
- Availability to work 24hr shift patterns to include some weekend working
