- Description
- Registered Manager required for a brand new dual registered children and young peoples home in Wigan supporting young people aged 11- 18 years with emotional behavioural needs.
The residential childcare service in Wigan is a new provision and is being led by a team of Directors with extensive experience to include an RI with 16 years residential childcare experience, 13 of which have been at management and senior management level. The RI has only ever managed and supported Managers with good and outstanding services; in addition the directorship also includes someone from an extensive background in childrens health (further details can be provided on this).
The company have a child focused vision and homes will be either solo or dual registered supporting young people with EBD.
The service will take the therapeutic PACE approach and all staff will undertake a 4 day DDP training course.
The initial home is based in Wigan and everything is in place, (links have already been set up for referrals with Wigan local authority).
As a company they want Managers to be able to manage, so they are offering excellent team salaries ensuring the Managers are able to recruit the right candidates for the roles in the home and are looking at packages for RCWs around £30k.
What they can offer for the Registered Manager role in Wigan- The initial salary is £45,000 increasing to £55,000 on opening the second home, there will also be a bonus in place, the salary is negotiable for the right candidate

- They will have a therapy team in place to support the staff, and will also have incentive schemes in place for the team.
- Management level experience within a children's home with proven experience leading inspections to good or outstanding outcomes
- Level 3 qualification in residential childcare or equivalent (level 3 CYPW, Level 3 Health and social care - working with children and young people)
- Level 5 in Health & social care leadership and management
- 4 years’ experience working in residential childcare
- 2 years’ experience working at management level (Deputy Manager or registered management) in residential childcare
- Enthusiasm and genuine passion for developing and nurturing children and young people
- Providing a safe, nurturing and environment for two young people aged 11 - 18 years with social and emotional needs, enabling them to fulfill their potential.
- Leading a team of staff to ensure safeguarding is integral throughout practise
- Liaising with local authorities and Ofsted.
- Supporting the set up of a second home and securing dual registration
- There will be on call responsibilities which will be shared with the Team Leaders and also the Deputy (recruited to support the opening of the second home). The Manager will be supported by a Senior on call for safeguarding concerns which will include the RI.
