- Description
- We are looking for a Head of Operations to manage nursery operations and ensure operational excellence is achieved across the board. The role is to oversee the nurseries across Brighton area and East Sussex
This is an senior executive role and it will be responsible for achieving the highest standards of nursery performance, quality control and ensuring all nurseries are compliant across the board in all areas. Reporting into the Managing Director, the role will have full operational responsibility for all nursery settings. The role is also responsible for achieving Ofsted excellence and therefore a broad and deep understanding of the EYFS Framework and other relevant documents (such as Development Matters) as well as safeguarding knowledge and experience is absolutely essential.
The right candidate for the head of Nursery operations will demonstrate- educated to degree level

Key Tasks of the head of Nursery operation role in Sussex:- Full operational and line management responsibility for all nursery settings, including, staffing HR and maintenance.
- Integral understanding of the EYFS and responsibility for compliance of all statutory requirements
- Maintaining and achieving Ofsted excellence across all settings, including supporting nurseries with Ofsted readiness and attending inspections
- Upholding first-class nursery image and maintenance
- Maintain optimal nursery performance in all areas
- Act as Joint Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Ownership and implementation of Hopscotch Policies and Procedures, including responsibility for:
- Full HSE compliance across all sites (and including Head Office)
- Fire Safety compliance across all sites (and including Head Office)
- Food Management and Allergen Management systems
- General experience of Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Maintenance and building compliance (in conjunction with Maintenance Manager) i.e. EICRs, PAT Testing, Gas Safety Testing, Legionella
- Occupancy analysis with settings (in conjunction with the Managing Director) and developing action plans when needed
- Work with HR and Payroll Manager to develop and deliver in-house training
- Supporting the Managing Director with business development and growth plans
