- Registered Childrens Home Manager based in Leeds, Yorkshire.
Are you an experienced Childrens Home Manager who would love to have a hand in setting up a brand new home and be involved in recruiting their whole staff team from scratch?
If so we are currently recruiting for a Registered Childrens Home Manager based in Leeds, Yorkshire to support children with learning disabilities.

With over 10 years’ experience within SEND and SMEH organisations, the Director decided to improve the current method used in homes with the use of our unique approach, which they expect to greatly improve the lives of the children.
In order for any organisation to thrive, they also understand that theirr team members are key, therefore they we will be investing heavily into their health and wellbeing and will provide them a very generous incentive scheme.
The first home will fall under learning disabilities and is expected to open in the summer of 2020, and they plan to open another five homes in Yorkshire over the next three years, providing promotional and developmental opportunities for all members of staff.
Essential requirements:
· Great Attitude Towards Self Development

· Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
· Residential Childcare experience within a children’s home including LD experience - minimum 2/3 years
· A driving licence and access to a vehicle.
· Flexibility as will be required to work shifts including; evenings, weekends and nights as part of a rota.
Leadership and Communication
· Able to demonstrate experience in leading and motivating staff members.
· Ability to develop and encourage professional growth in others. Through appraisal, supervision and support of all residential staff.
· Ability to contribute to the development of appropriate relationships with and between staff, young people and other stakeholders.
· A forward thinking individual who will work with the Home to ensure that they run in line with standards required in the company.
· Demonstrates a supportive attitude towards staff to achieve the highest standards of care for the residents.
· Being able to communicate effectively with resident’s/ relatives/carers and multiple. agencies in order to provide the best care.
· Liaise with the various internal and external multi-disciplinary teams and commissioning authorities to ensure that the care needs of new and existing residents are met.
Management
· Experience in managing a residential Home, demonstrates an efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies and the Statement of Purpose for the home.
· Demonstrates an understanding of budgetary management.
· To ensure that the Company's financial and administrative procedures are adhered to and to work within a set budget.
· Experience in liaising with regulatory organisations in relation to the way the home is managed.
· Ensure that safe working practices are employed by all staff at all times in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work legislation. Will co-operate with designated personnel exercising their responsibilities in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act.
· Ensure the all necessary documentation required by regulators is completed to a high standard and be available for inspections, checks or interviews as requested.

· Demonstrates the ability of working as a team to meet the emotional and physical needs of the young people and planning for positive outcomes.
· To ensure at that professional ethics and behaviour are demonstrated by all staff at all times.
· Actively co-ordinate the service provision and be a focal point for support, advice and coaching to all staff within the Home.
· Experience of being responsible for shaping and delivering the homes Statement of Purpose and managing the team to do the same.
· Providing good quality care which is free from oppression and where differences are respected and valued.
· Demonstrates the ability to promote appropriate and therapeutic relationships between staff and young people and their families, promoting the children and young people's involvement and participation in the day-to-day life of the Home.
· Demonstrates the ability to provide high quality care that supports the needs of residents to be an advocate for their wellbeing and to provide strong motivational leadership to staff
· Ability to assist and supervise in the continual assessment of the needs of the children and young people and to identify and prepare specific development plans to ensure the most appropriate service provision.
Experience
· Knowledge of challenging behaviour and complex physical needs, physical or mental.
· Good knowledge of manpower, planning/development/ skills mix.
· Experience in being involved in the recruitment of staff including vetting, interviewing and inducting new employees.
· Demonstrates a good understanding of comprehensive staff training and development programme to enable the service to have available all necessary skills and levels of expertise to meet the needs of the young people.
· Experience of co-ordinating and monitoring casework and administrative functions of the home and evaluate standards of performance (in line with OFSTEDS requirements).
· Good understanding of clinical practices and medication processes, in line with legislation.
· Exceptional understanding of safeguarding and promoting individual rights.
· Demonstrates experience of chairing meetings, reviews and discussions as necessary
