- Residential Support Worker (Residential Children's support worker) role supporting children in Shrewsbury.
We are recruiting for compassionate and experienced care professionals to work as a Residential Children's Support Worker (RCW) for a small homely 4 bedded setting that supports children with emotional and behavioural needs based in the Shrewsbury area.
The company is a small business whom has the care of young people embedded into the whole ethos of the organisation including their recruitment process.
What the company can offer:- £10.50 - £11.50 per hour + sleep-in allowance at £50 per sleep = annual salary approx £27,508 - £29,536 for role including sleep -in cover
- Permanent full time hours - 169 hours worked over the month (typically working 10 x 24 hr sleep in shifts over the month).

- MUST BE A CAR DRIVER TO BE ABLE TO TAKE THE CHILDREN TO SCHOOL AND APPOINTMENTS
- Ideally hold a recognised qualification or willing to work towards a level 3 residential childcare qualification
- Minimum of 6 months experience working formally within young peoples services (ages 11- 17 years).
- Ability to write clear and accurate reports
- An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment
- Willingness to work shift work
- To contribute to the Care Planning process of children cared for
- Attending and preparing for children’s conferences, reviews, planning, core group and other meetings in connection with children placed with the company
- Maintaining children’s records accurately and within agreed time-scales
- Undertaking Key Worker responsibilities conscientiously and in accordance with agreed time-scales
- Personal Care
- To participate and contribute to the collation and preparation of Assessment and Action Records (when this is in accordance with the child’s care plan).
- Availability to work 24hr shift patterns to include some weekend working
