Description
Residential Childcare Worker (RCW) required for home supporting children with learning disabilities in the Oldham area.

We are recruiting for a compassionate and experienced Childcare professional to work as Residential Childcare Worker (RCW) for a home that supports children with learning disabilities based in Wythenshawe.

The role is a permanent full-time position (169 hours average per month - 39 hrs a week). Typically you would undertake 10 x 24hrs shifts a month e.g 930am - 11pm sleep in then 730am - 930am. The rota is NOT a 2 on and 4 off, so you will have days off between 24hrs shifts generally. The rota is planned 4 - 6 weeks in advance.

What the Residential Support Worker role can offer:
. Salary £27500 to £29500 inclusive of sleep-ins

Main duties and Responsibilities:
  • To contribute to the Care Planning process of children cared for
  • Attending and preparing for children’s conferences, reviews, planning, core group and other meetings in connection with children placed with the company
  • Maintaining children’s records accurately and within agreed time-scale
  • Undertaking Key Worker responsibilities conscientiously and in accordance with agreed time-scales
  • Personal Care
  • To participate and contribute to the collation and preparation of Assessment and Action Records (when this is in accordance with the child’s care plan).
  • Availability to work 24hr shift patterns to include some weekend working

Experience and Qualifications for the Residential Support Worker
  • MUST BE A CAR DRIVER TO BE ABLE TO TAKE THE CHILDREN TO SCHOOL AND APPOINTMENTS
  • Ideally have a recognised level 3 residential childcare qualification or if not have extensive exerperience within the learning disabilities field
  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience working within children or adults with learning disabilities or within care services and
  • Willingness to undertake personal care.
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports
  • An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment
  • Willingness to work shift work
